Dear Sir/ Madam,
India China Alliance Centre (ICAC) entered into a strategic partnership with the Shanghai Overseas Talent Service Center (SOTSC) in 2008 (copy of the MoU between ICAC and SOTSC is enclosed for your reference). SOTSC is an integral part of the Department of Personnel, Shanghai Municipal People’s Government and works closely with the leading Universities of Shanghai such as the Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Fudan University and East China Normal University.
I am happy to inform you of a prestigious 8-week International Internship Program that is for the first time being offered to Indian MBA students to explore first hand, the rapid advances made by China in the area of infrastructure, industry, trade and commerce. The internship program includes one week of classroom instruction that gives the history of China and creates the context for the remainder seven weeks which provide in-company training with large Chinese companies/ MNCs. Students would be given the choice to opt any sector of their interest. They would get to interact with other international students and be awarded a certificate at the end of the internship.
We are writing to you to sponsor at least one MBA student who has excelled in the first two semesters from your esteemed institution. The cost of the program would be $5,000 only for the 8-week program that includes boarding, lodging, food, local surface transport and course material. The student will have to bear the cost of the international air tickets (China Eastern Airlines), visa fee and airport tax which shall work out to approximately INR 40,000 ($800).
While there would be international placement opportunities for the student/s in China once they complete their MBA program, the institute that sponsors them gets to build its own relationship with SOTSC which in turn would facilitate interface with the leading Universities of Shanghai in the area of student exchange, faculty exchange, joint research and collaborative programs.
